Rogers Family Orchard is a small, family owned-owned and operated farm with tons of charm and is a favorite of local residents who rave that their fresh-pressed cider is the best around. Several apples varieties are available either already picked or you can pick your own. Rogers has a hard cider tasting room in addition to food.They’re open 7 days a week until Christmas.

 

SARATOGA COUNTY

Saratoga Apple is serious about their cider. For five generations, the Darrow Family has been growing apples and they take great pride in producing cider using the varieties that they grow which are hand-picked at the height of the season. They’re open seven days a week, year round. In addition to cider, they offer baked goods including cider donuts, produce, and carry an assortment of local, natural foods and gifts.

The Pierce family has owned this gem of a farm since 1948. The purchase of the land came with a barn that was built in the late 1880’s and housed a 120-ton screw driven press so they put it to good use. The popularity of the cider they made resulted in the addition of a retail store and later a restaurant. Their fresh pressed cider is available seasonally and sold in their market.

Made in the tradition of the early 1900s, Kristy’s Barn selects the perfect combination of ripe fruit to press into their old-fashioned apple cider for a taste as unique as it is delicious. The farm offers a variety of festive autumn activities including apple picking, hunting for the perfect pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, and hayrides, not to mention sampling their special recipe cider donuts.

Made from apples that are picked at perfection, Hicks Orchard apple cider is a tradition as old as the farm; they’ve been in operation since 1905! They use a hydraulic press that squeezes the juice from apples that have been mashed and layered on a rack to yield a pure, sweet cider that is the epitome of autumn in a glass.

McWhorter’s Orchard in Argyle is a fun stop for all things we love about the fall season: apples, apple picking, apple cider, cider donuts, and plenty of non-apple related activities too. They’re open Friday through Sunday during apple season.

Borden’s Orchard | info
Renowned for their cider which is milled on-site, Borden’s Orchard is a seventh generation family owned and operated farm. They grow more than 40 varieties of apples and other fruits and operate a year-round farm store with a large assortment of unique New York State products.

The Evans Family has brewing roots that trail from Hudson, NY in 1786. The award-winning ales of the past were extremely well known in the Northeast and were even exported to England and France. Today, The Evans Family operates the C.H. Evans Brewing Company within the Albany Pump Station in historic Quackenbush Square. After 225 years of brewing, you better believe that the suds available are award winning and, perhaps more importantly, delicious.
